Bookmark Size

The standard promotional bookmark is 2.5 × 8.5 inches (63.5 × 215.9 mm). At 300 DPI it's 750 × 2550 pixels. The narrow format is cost-efficient to print — multiple bookmarks gang-print on a single sheet — and pairs well with book launches, libraries, educational events, and retail packaging inserts.

Design Tips

  • Four bookmarks (2.5 × 8.5 in) fit side by side on a standard 10 × 8.5 in sheet with no waste — an economical imposition for small-print runs.
  • Punch a hole 6–8 mm from the top, centred, after printing. Leave 15 mm of design-free space at the top of your layout to accommodate the hole and a ribbon or tassel.
  • Bookmarks are thin — use 350–400 gsm card stock, ideally with a laminate coating, to prevent warping from moisture in a book.
  • The 2.5 × 8.5 in portrait format reads top-to-bottom. Lead with the brand or title at the top, end with a URL or QR code at the bottom.
