Design Tips

  • For events, a flyer needs to communicate: what, where, when, and how to buy/sign up — in that priority order. Everything else is secondary.
  • Body text at 10–12 pt is the minimum for comfortable reading on an 8.5×11 flyer held at arm's length. Headlines at 36–60 pt.
  • Half-sheet (5.5 × 8.5 in) flyers print two-up on a single Letter sheet — cost-efficient for high-volume distribution. Design at 1275 × 2550 px at 300 DPI.
  • For colour accuracy, design in CMYK from the start. RGB flyers printed at copy shops often come out with duller colours than expected.
